Once the mist began to be burned off a small flock of Flame Robins was busy amongst the grape vines off Stockdill Drive, Holt. There were at least four males and two females visible and quite relaxed at and from 11.00. They often utilised the property's fencing opposite the end of Studio Road, as would be usual for the species.
I went to Strathnairn in search of Scarlet Robins but drew a blank over three hours walking round the property from 09.30. For the first two hours it wasn't weather for birds or the insects the would seek.
On 18.04.17. a pair of Scarlet Robins was seen at 14.30 and later. I have not seen the species there since. Their eastern Strathnairn foraging area has been significantly altered by the Ginninderry Link building and associated landscaping since last winter.

Has anyone else seen the Scarlet Robins at Strathnairn or the Shepherds Lookout area since April?

The best moment of a sunny morning at Callum Brae today (at least, sunny after the fog cleared and before some cloud came in) was a group of 10 Flame Robin just up from ‘Nursery Corner’. They were feeding on the ground with Yellow-rumped Thornbills, and there were Weebill, Buff-rumped Thornbills and a pair of Scarlet Robins at that same spot too. The bright apricot colouring of the three adult male Flame Robins in the group was unmissable.
