In the last few days I have seen for the first time Rainbow Lorikeets in Weston Ck.. Late this morning a pair flew over Cooleman court and a couple of days ago a pair were flying over North Weston/cotter Road

Hi

When I left for Work this morning at 7.30am I had a flock of about 10 birds fly overhead. Their calls and silhouettes where those of Rainbow Lorikeets, which I have never seen in North Ainslie. Didn't see any colours, but size, silhouette and call where clear.

At the southern end of Lalor Street, on Hannan Crescent is a Red-flowering Gum, heavy with flowers and birds. Apart from a lot of Red Wattlebirds, there were some birds, Lorikeets in silhouette and call, but distinctly smaller than the Red Wattlebirds.
I couldn't make out any colours and did not have binoculars with me.

I won't be able to get past there again before dark or tomorrow. Just thought if anyone wants to investigate....

Cheers,

Susanne
