Koels are getting a bit of coverage ATM so I add my two-penneth. Yesterday
afternoon in our huge Euc. mellidora there were six Koels, and two Red
Wattlebirds trying to get rid of them (the Wattlebirds are the 'owners' of the
tree). There was a good deal of Koel calling (the alternate calls, not
'ko-el'), some extremely loud. One Koel seemed to be the ringmaster, doing a
lot of of the calling, and stayed in the tree the longest. All told they did a
lot of jumping around and seemed a bit excited.
