Are these beetles common in the ACT? I've not encountered one here before. This one was trundling across Brindabella Road out near the Blue Range Road turnoff. When I stopped my bike to take a photo, it decided to hitch a ride on my wheel rim. It had a surprisingly strong grip on the aluminium of the rim when I removed it in order to continue my ride.
