Canon 100-400 L IS USM f4.5-5.6 lens for sale

Having recently upgraded to the Mark 2 version of this lens, I'm now selling my original Mark 1 version. It's a very capable lens but I'm selling for not much more than a third of the price of the new Mark 2. This would be a great lens for someone fairly new to bird photography with a limited budget but seeking great results. The lens will work on both full frame and APS-C (crop) sensor cameras and is compatible with both the 1.4x and 2x teleconverters although I've never used it with the converters.

I've just had this lens back from Canon after having the zoom lock replaced. This wears out on these lenses - it's a know issue that can cause grief if not fixed. So the lens is better than it's ever been and should never have a problem with the zoom lock for a very long time. Looking at the lens it seems Canon must have given it a dust out inside when they did the repair because it's virtually dust free internally - I can only see a couple of very small specks. I've always had a UV filter on the front of the lens to protect it.

If you want to see the images this is capable of producing on my Canon 80D and older 700D, have a look on the birdlifephotography.org.au website (go to Galleries: All Photos) and use the search facility to find photos by 'Glenn Pure'. All the photos before November last year were done on this lens.

Supplied with original soft case, lens hood (which has a few marks on it), original box, manual and UV filter. I'm looking for $950 plus postage. Inspection welcome. These are still going for well over $1,000 on ebay and other sites.

My email is m("evans-pure.net","glenn");"> if interested or phone 0434 862662
