On the subject of Cattle Egrets, saw one in breeding plumage at the Mackellar pond when driving past to work yesterday. Have started back at Brindabella Hills winery on weekends after nearly a year working the spider exhibition at Questacon. Reason I say this is that on Brooklands Rd, close to winery, I saw again two Pied Butcherbirds which were there last time I drove out there, a year ago.

A Moruya sighting yesterday, 11:02. As the weather has warmed up, by the side of the highway on the river flats, the cattle usually have a coterie of egrets. As I drove by, a flock of around 15 were taking off in an Easterly direction across the highway directly in front of me, so I had a very good view. What appeared to be all were in breeding plumage. fabulous almost orange head and neck.
