Our local Dollarbird was back in its regular tree beside the 6th fairway of the Murrumbidgee golf course at Gleneagles (Kambah) this morning. It was being harassed by a Pied Currawong who obviously took exception to its renewed
presence. I didn’t record it yesterday morning so I’m assuming it’s most likely it arrived sometime during yesterday.
Over the past four seasons (including this one), my first record of its return has been between the 18th and 21st October. (Of course I don’t know which of the pair it is or if one always returns before the other.)
