I have finally seen a chick in the nest visible frm my study window. It looked quite large so I think my hatch date assessed by the unsettled behaviour of the brooding male is correct.
That being said he is spending a lot more time preening this year than I have noticed in earlier times. Have any other Podrgophiles noticed this differenc?
