Like Stephen, this the first time that I have noticed Yellow-faced Honeyeaters staying over on their way back to the mountains.  The eucalypts around here are flowering at present and perhaps it is still too cold to head for the mountains.

Over the last few weeks I have had many Yellow-faced Honeyeaters and occasional White-eared Honeyeaters in my garden in Torrens.  A few White-eared Honeyeaters over wintered.  I have not noticed the return of the Yellow-faced Honeyeaters in the past years as I have this year.  For weeks now their numbers have built up and just now there are 10 to 15 in the garden outside my front window and also one Black-chinned Honeyeater.  Three have flown into the glass of my window, one unfortunately fatally. Make that four, another one just flew into the window just now (not fatally).  They are loving the Rhododendron in full bloom and the natives in flower.
