At 18:00 hours yesterday, October 12, the sky over Holt resembled a mosaic
of old bruises interspersed with patches of blue. While idly watching the
clear breaks I glimpsed about 25 to 35 White-throated Needletails arcing
across a field of blue. More light broke through the overcast and I caught
the flashing of white throats and ventral areas. Seemed to be moving east to
west
