Fwd: Apostlebird at North Watson Wetlands

Possibly same apostlebird spotted at north watson wetlands yesterday morning around 6:45am (i was also fairly surprised to see it!) and then several days before just off Aspinall st near Potters society entrance in conifer trees.

My experience, also on many trips to or from Qld over 30 + years is similar but it is also very variable as to when they first are (going north) or last (going south) noticed.

Interesting observation. On recent trips to Qld I have seen the first Apostlebirds closer to Canberra than ever before – between Booroowa and Cowra.  This might just be one off or could it mean their range is spreading towards the ACT?

This species is classified as a non-breeding vagrant in the ACT.
