Not being there I don’t know but it is probably what you think it is. A loud single-note call is typical for winter. I liken it to “Klute”.

Just had a bird visit our front yard, first assumption was a Grey-shrike Thrush though was only making loud single-note calls. Was the right size, but had an obviously olive back, more colourful than I'd expect for a GST ... any other possible identification?
