Very early yesterday (24.5.) morning (first light) I heard "noises" coming from Lyneham Ridge which I finally worked out to be the begging calls of young YTBSc. A bit later at least 60 birds came down from the ridge flew over our house, heading
for the pines in Yowani Golf Club, and possibly, later to the Majura pines.
This morning (25.5.) I was at the Lyneham Ridge before first light, and indeed there were YTBCs roosting. And the young birds made continuously begging noises. In the end the group comprised 33 birds. They headed this time in the direction of Black Mt.
Small numbers (up to 5) YTBC have been in Yowani for the last few weeks.
