Just to add to others' occasional updates re: Superb Parrots, they continue to visit backyard seeding Chinese Elms in Cook (which I posted about when they began attracting the birds in March). This is despite the now very dry seeds being fairly sparse
-- with more on the ground than in the trees.
An additional observation: while other parrots that make regular use of this resource are not at all averse to feeding on fallen seeds late in the season (particularly eastern rosellas), in the previous three years when Superb Parrots have been regular
visitors to the trees I have never seen them doing this. Until this week. In the company of three Crimson Rosellas, a single female Superb Parrot was wandering about feeding freely on the ground.
