I visited Peter twice over the last two days (we did a number of ski trips together in the 1990s-2000s).  He was asleep both times and I spent the visits talking with daughter Lowie who is spending every day at Peter’s bedside.  Peter’s condition, sadly, is very poor. The cancer has advanced aggressively now.  Those thinking of paying a visit might wish to do so sooner rather than later.

many in COG will know Peter, a former COG committee member. I know he's been more active in the native plant society in recent years, but thought I'd pass this on for those who know him.

Hi all,
I hope I have found the appropriate email addresses...
As you may or may not be aware, my Dad, Peter Ormay has been battling with prostate cancer for many years. He was admitted to Clare Holland House nearly a month ago, following several stays in hospital.
He was doing fairly well, but has just been laid low by a urinary tract infection. He's started antibiotic treatment for it, but the doctor has advised me that because his health is not good anyway, the antibiotic may not be able to help enough for him to recover.
So, if you could spread the word throughout the various organisations and groups Dad is a part of (if possible), that would be much appreciated. Please let everyone know that they're welcome to come by for a visit, if they would like to. I am with Dad every day, and we would love some more company!
Kind Regards,
Lowie Ormay
