Huge numbers of honeyeaters flew from the Brindabellas quite low over Uriarra Village this morning. We watched wave after wave fly over between 10.45 and 11.45 am. There was hardly any time during this period when there were no birds in the air. I estimate the numbers were in the low thousands. Some rested briefly in tall eucalyptus trees in the horse paddock and also in the pinoaks in front of my house but they didn't stay long. The first scarlet robin for the Autumn also visited this morning.
