Powl has dropped a sugar glider and a substantial portion of a sugar glider and not retrieved them, perhaps indicating a reluctance to pick up food from
the ground. If this is correct, feeding on carrion would be most unlikely. It has not been seen with a rabbit, although plenty of young ones are close by.

There has been an interesting discussion on birding-aus today about whether Powls eat carrion. The conclusion is that they don't. (Our specimen wasn't feeding on anything this morning but sitting
up in its usual tree looking Powerful.)
I then read Rosemary's question about whether the 'burbs are inundated with Ravens. The reason
Acton is inundated with Ravens is because they are
feeding on dead carp.
