A brief visit to the southern reaches of Googong yesterday afternoon produced
the usual suspects although no sign of any Brown Treecreepers this time.
There was plenty of birdlife around the homestead with at least 6 Diamond
Firetails, including 2 immature birds, two separate pairs of Southern Whiteface
and a large loose flock of Dusky Woodswallows numbering close to 20.
Other birds included a Brown Falcon being harassed by the local Magpies, many
Red-browed Finches, Fuscous and Yellow-faced Honeyeaters, a Pipit and
Black-faced Cuckoo-shrikes.
