Just now (last few minutes) a satin bowerbird singing (well that weird whirring) just outside my window at home. I heard it from inside and went out to look. It is an all blue bird. The first satin bowerbird I have had here since mid October and an odd time of year to see all blue bird (or indeed any of them) here.

Also on SBB, I have just had my first ever sighting of a changeling - a green bird becoming a blue bird.
There have been some photos published recently. Very strange looking creature indeed.

Got a good look yesterday afternoon at a female or immature satin bowerbird calling in harsh terms from electricity wires running down the side of my place in Fraser. Upon seeing me it dived into a neighbour’s big grevillea bush where it was still visible for a few minutes before diving into something denser. It kept calling though and at one point there was an answering double whistle from the opposite side of my neighbour’s backyard.
