I saw a pair of Swamphens mating at the McKellar wetlands on Saturday while I was waterwatching, so there's at least four birds who don't think it's too late!

Yesterday on Crace wetland I saw a purple swamp hen with a beak full of nesting material. Can someone advise whether it might be a bit late in the season for nest building or is this within normal nesting times for the species? |
