It would be great if they became regulars to the wetlands, but I only ever saw them on the settlement ponds (when it was possible to access the ponds).

Chris,

This is my third sighting here in the past few years with my last sighting on September 27th, 2015. Also on E-bird there were 2 records here in September and December 2015.

I think they may be around more than we know as it seemed very shy and was hard to relocate quite some time later.

This is an interesting sighting. I cannot remember Blue-billed Ducks at the Wetlands before but not surprising as they are recorded on the Sewage Ponds just over the road although not seen in the January 2015 survey. For 2014-15 reporting year there were 42 records, 38 from FSP and 4 from Yerrabi Ponds.

Incidentally I am writing up the 2014-15 ABR and I note a dependent young Blue-billed Duck record entered to the COG database from Yerrabi Ponds on 11 September 2014. Can anyone confirm this sighting as it is most unusual and possibly should be Musk Duck.

I have been asked for a more accurate area of the sighting. I first saw it in front of Cygnus Hide and it was heading south.
After Steve arrived he spotted it near the reeds looking south from Cygnus ( pic attached ).

Also i should have thanked Kym for her report on here yesterday of the Honeyeater.

There is a Blue-billed Duck on Kelly's at Jerra Wetlands. Also the White-cheeked Honeyeater was present this morning.
