You are probably right David. And no doubt the Koels can attract attention,
being about as noisy as anyone. But in terms of guessing how important that
might be, relates to that Noisy Miners don't really like anyone (else).

Last week two local Koels got going about 8.30am squawking at each other (a
male and a female, I think - a domestic dispute), when a few Noisy Miners from
further down the hill (western end of Deakin) flew up and entered the melée.
Together they set up quite a racket, chasing each other in and out of our E.
melliodora and Cedar Wattle, caterwauling all the time. I got the strong
impression the Noisy Miners did not like the Koels!
