With all the name changes you almost need to buy a latest edition Wilson and swan every year

I assume it keeps the publishers in business

What do you mean by check the index properly? Go through every Latin name till I find the specific whitii? not my definition of a useful index.

Ross Bennett's Frogs and Reptiles of the ACT tells me that this is a White's Skink, Egernia whitii. Can anybody tell me why there is no Egernia whitii, or anything that looks like it, in Wilson and Swan's Complete Reptiles of Australia?
