For those interested I recently filmed their close relative in NZ - The New Zealand Dabchick - now restricted to the parts of the North Island see https://vimeo.com/149846563
Oh and the BF Dotterel were there - in the middle of the road and investigating front the courier company depot across the road it being Sunday all was quiet there.
