We used to have them too; nested in neighbours’ upstairs eaves but eaves have gone & birds too; our redgums, now infested noisy miners

It could well be one of the ones I saw yesterday. We typically have one or two each year too.

We have one in Florey! He comes back every year (presuming it’s the same one)…  He used to sit in the neighbours big gum tree and call his little heart out, but last year the tree was cut down L

Now he is in a different tree but he’s still close enough for us to see him from our window

Hi All

Three koels this afternoon along the border of Higgins and Latham. One male in hot pursuit of a female. A second male decided to join in, but gave up very quickly. The wattlebirds were not as fussed by the koels as the koels themselves were.

Regards, Matt.
