Elizabeth, We have had the same thing with Correas - it is a thing they sometimes do. We wanted to create a bird garden so we put up with it. Having said that, it hasn't happened again for a while.

A few weeks ago I noticed that buds on my very best camellia were falling to the ground.  Then I saw a pair of crimson rosellas in the tree, just pecking the buds and dropping them to the ground.  Has anyone else had this problem?  They only did it on one tree; and it is a tree.  What satisfaction are they getting from the buds?  How can I stop it happening next year?  They have never done it before
