An interesting aspect of the Rose Robin is that at Mallacoota Vic. it is present year round as shown by this snip of the eBird Bar Charts covering from Gypsy Point to the Ocean. (Each vertical
bar is effectively a week.)
I suspect the absence in May - June is an absence of observers as much as absence of birds, possibly allied to the birds being silent then - most of my observations of the species in that area are heard calling from dense undergrowth,. Martin
