I have been reading with interest the reports coming in the last few days of numbers of Rose Robins in the Canberra area 9 (and failed to find the one at Jerrabomberra wetlands this afternoon!)

I recalled one day a couple of years ago when our semi-regular drive along Lake Rd near Bungendore yielded quite a number of Rose Robins both male and female at the bottom (eastern edge) of the lake George escarpment.  I have just checked back expecting that this event was around August/September only to discover that it was the 4th June 2013.  (My records also show this was the only occasion I have seen Rose Robins on Lake Rd.)  So it would seem that this species might  move in numbers at the same time – but if they move back through the Canberra area in numbers why the 3 month difference between 2013 and this year?
