A friend who lives in Tuggeranong sent me this photo, taken in their garden on the weekend, asking if the bird is a Collared Sparrowhawk. Looks like it to me. Apparently the bird came into their garden with a Crested Pigeon in its clutches; when they went out to investigate the pigeon got away but the sparrowhawk stayed around long enough to be photographed.
