While having a snoop round to see how the deluge was affecting things (ans: surprisingly little impact - paddocks puddles but no roads seriously flooded) I saw a Whistling Kite close to
the Molonglo, where Whiskers Creek goes under Captains Flat Rd. This is only the third record in the Carwoola area since I have been recording and the first since December 2011.
Its presence was not well received by the local Magpies.
