Wow that is a horrible case study of a misguided attempt to do the same, resulting in killing 2 people.......... How did you find that so quickly? And sad to see what people have written under the story......... The advice should always be to not create extreme risk and look ahead for the unpredictable.

I have had to get the police to block the Tugg Parkway so I could rescue a Wood Duck and her ducklings trapped against the central concrete barrier - one of the police officer even assisted in grabbing the ducklings. The police turned up pretty quickly after the call - a second car even turned just as we had finished.

Swiss police block the main motorway between Bern and Lucerne for about five minutes to allow a family of ducklings to cross the road. You can see them just in front of the Audi in the centre lane.
