The movements of this semi-migratory parrot are interesting. If in accordance with recent seasonal trends they have left our area, one possibility is that part of the population
has learned to extend its post-breeding movement (late summer/spring) to the vicinity of Canberra to make use of local food sources before heading further north for winter and then doubling back (presumably a more western route) to its riverina stronghold.
It is probable that Canberra remains on the extreme south-east corner of their range.
