It may be relevant to check the locations at which the local pest control
contractors release brush tail possums that are captured in Canberra when
someone pays them to remove a pesky possum (or 2 or 3.....) from their roof.
The requirements are that they be released within a few hundred metres of
where they are caught but this is not done because they simply return to
where they are caught, making the process useless. What they do is release
them somewhere else in suburban Canberra (in one or two favoured spots). Of
course they might not say where.........

Being the closest ( about 600 metres ) and a regular observer I will make a
guesstimate of about 90 mammals including gliders, ringtail and brush tail
possums plus several birds calculated on a kill every two nights for six
months. The field guides provide information that a pair of powerful owls
occupy a territory of 30 square kms so the hunting range is far beyond the
ANBG and it has been recorded heading for Black Mountain at dusk. Perhaps
one of our resident owl experts can be forthcoming on this query Elisabeth.
Regards to all T2.

done a calculation about how many gliders and possums he would have eaten in
that time? Would he have depleted the number at ANBG?
