I suppose that deserves a "lucky you". But this is localised. They are never
at my place. There are a few species whose distribution or maybe I should
say pattern of distribution over time, varies greatly in different parts of
Canberra: Superb Parrots, GG Cockatoo, King Parrot, Satin Bowerbird, Crested
Pigeon.....

As for "Is it likely they'll become permanent residents?" Making predictions
is fraught but maybe if things go well for them they could become more
regular visitors but probably residents, as they are migrants, although not
long distance ones.

Today Superbs are the commonest parrot around our house (Duffy Street),
despite good numbers of Kings and all the other parrot species (even a few
Swift Parrots, up Steve's end of the street). We've seen flocks of up to 20
Superbs over the last two days, including adults, and we can hear them
calling almost constantly. They've been here since just before Christmas. Is
it likely they'll become permanent residents?
