Swift Parrots in Ainslie

While rushing around getting ready for work this morning I was delighted to hear Swift Parrot noises coming from outside. I was out the back door in time to see a single bird flying south with a Pied Currawong in apparent pursuit. The calling continued and a few seconds later three more flew out of a large Yellow Box in a neighbour’s garden, also heading south, and also with a currawong chasing them. No sign of them since I arrived home.

 

We have one previous record for our garden, from May 2002.
