Probably just a coincidence – Peter Roberts (former COG committee member) tells me that unusually large groups (up to 30) of G-G have been turning up at Merimbula/Pambula in the last few days.  At Pambula (specifically in the Panboola nature reserve) they like to feed on the Hawthorn trees.   They are not an unusual sighting in the area but rarely in such large numbers.
