watched a female red-capped robin at Pine Island South this morning - perched on fence near path down to beach (end nearest start of track to Point Hut). Quite confiding, alternately preening and doing its perch/pounce thing. Not all that common around the ACT, and haven't seen one at Point Hut before.  Numbers of yellow thornbills in the riverside casuarinas at the little beach, lots of other more common birds around too, and a black cat in the picnic area.
