I was there this morning and the gang gangs were plentiful. I parked on Kent Street - 3 were playing in a dead tree right beside the footpath. Worth a try if you have visitors with only a few minutes to spare. Also saw a pair beside an area surrounded by temporary fencing, uphill just a little - the male was in place making plenty of noise while the female was alongside working away at an area where a branch had broken off. I couldn't tell if it was a hollow or whether she was tending a nest or feeding - no sounds came from within. Plenty of kookaburras (and roos, of course) - great if you have visitors - and three sacred kingfishers, which I wasn't expecting. A wonderful spot! On 03/02/2015 8:54 AM, "John Leonard" <> wrote:
This morning I took a visiting Dutch bird watcher, Pieter, on a walk from my house in Hughes around the Kent street side of Red Hill, mainly to see ggs. |
