Yes, I was at the Macquarie pool carpark at about 8.30 this morning and there were at least 20 in the trees.

As well, the koel was back in Lyons around 7.30 this morning.

It's always nice when a flock of Superbs come to visit us in Macquarie … you can hear and see them doing laps of the suburb.

It is curious though how uncoordinated they appear when flying. They almost always fly with at least one other bird but you rarely see the entire flock together … they'll split up, re-group … and in flight they look more like they're playing Dodgem Cars than actually trying to fly in any orderly manner.

I'm surprised I don't see them colliding into each other and dropping out of the sky.
