My
suggestion is some kind of slime mould. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slime_mold Not a
plant. What you call mouth probably isn't but may be just that it has spread out
from that point. But really only a guess or suggestion.

There are so many examples of the knowledge of nature
on this enlightening forum I was hoping someone might point me in the direction
to find this plant if it is a plant ?
It erupted out of the mulch underneath the plum tree this morning . It is
pink to red with an open mouth that that seems to be approx. 6 cm deep 6-7 cm
round. It is like a succulent with a little brown ooze on the outer leaves
( for want of better word ) and although it was attracting blowies by the dozen
I could not detect an odour.
By this afternoon all the succulence had gone and the mouth opening a lot
wider.
