I would say it is a Wood Duck, in that i mean a piece of wood that looks like a duck.

indeed a poor photo taken from a wetlands birdhide across  Kellys to the far bank, about 200 metres with basic digital camera. unducklike in solitary position in long grass, please tell me if I have found something more unusual
