There were a pair of Australian Hobbies at Campbell Park this morning - seen first from the car park then again later just beyond the horse gate.

Seen this afternoon at the old tip site, western Mt Ainslie.  Pics show female with cicada in talons, and male in same tree.  Several years ago we observed a hobby nest in the mobile phone tower not far from this spot; today there were workmen in the top of the tower and it is tempting to think that the workers disturbed the birds, though no nest material could be seen through binocs in the tower.
