Hi Megan
A few months ago we had Rainbow Lorikeets fighting with Crimson Rosellas and checking out tree hollows. We thought they would move into Mt Rogers this year as a result. I’m not sure if their invasion attempts were frustrated or they decided they didn’t like us but I don’t think any stayed around and nested. One house bordering Mt Rogers has a pet (caged) lorikeet and there is a substantial aviary at another house of the edge of the reserve and I wonder how much influence these have on birds checking out the area.
Cheers
Kevin

There were only a tiny number of Superbs at the AIS last Sat am. They were outnumbered by Rainbow Lorikeets and it will be interesting to observe numbers of each species in that location.

Today there were around 16 superbs restlessly moving from tree top to tree top around Mt Rogers – seem to be mostly males - these are the first that I have seen here this season. The Tawny Frogmouth has two chicks visible.
