The Noisy Friarbirds were vocal along Ginninderra Creekside, Latham on Thursday
11th September. They were calling again today 15th from 9.00am
OB Orioles were also calling today. Possibly the ones which nest creekside west
of Wrenfordsley Place or in Flynn and also those closer to the Stepping stones.
A flock of 20 Cockatoos were digging up Onion Grass bulbs and/or eating the
seed capsules of Storks-bill near the Latham footbridge.
Two Wedgetails flying west over mid Flynn at 12.30 today. Last seen heading
high over Charnwood and towards Parkwood. 2-3 Magpies protected their
territory, two coming close enough for contact it seemed.
Kookaburras appear to be nesting in a Mt Rogers Eucalypt hollow. Four
Kookaburras have been seen in the reserve recently.
