I am amused to read this Marnix. I have just returned from there. I also
ran the gauntlet of the first twenty or so cows and calves but the other
thirty were densely crowded on the track. The cows seemed relaxed but the
calves were spooking so I also abandoned the venture. A pair of Flame
Robins made the trip pleasant, along with four Cattle Egrets. At the hides,
a pair of Australasian Shovellers also made good viewing.. But that was it.

Tried unsuccessfully to reach the Azure Kingfisher spot yesterday and today.
It seems the farmer has let all his cattle out of the main paddock and on to
the riverside track section. Wasn't game to run the gauntlet of 50 cows and
calves. Looks like I'll have to try again next weekend.

Still some Cattle Egret present.

Cheers
Marnix
