Subsequent to the above message I looked at the Bird Info page for Pallid Cuckoo on the COG website Among the interesting data on the page is this graph
suggesting the record is indeed early, but not outrageously so.
Well done Steve/Paul/Julian for this excellent resource. I hope it is getting well used!
