Hi Denise

I have lightened the photo somewhat.
You can see the toe more clearly now.

This might help someone put a more definite ID on the bird.

That's why we need Renewable energy.

great morning…

Nicki has suggested I lodge a photo with a better shot of the claws ( not that clear I know !) which will hopefully nail the ID but the round tail seems to be the clincher for the Goshawk . It visits the pond on a regular basis so I will try and get a more reliable shot.

As I am doing the back yard count this year I need to get it right. Thank you

On an another subject :

ACT Wildlife is having a fund raising Sausage Sizzle at Bunnings Fyshwick today if anyone is out that way today and likes sausages .

Thanks Denise.

Why don't you send that to the chatline and ask whether the toe makes it a
Sparrowhawk. It's still a bit hard to see but does look long. The tail shape
could be a result of moult.

sending another shot with a better view of claws ( I hope ! my photography
is as dodgy as my identification skills ) thank you Nicki.

Beautiful bird.
