Michael Lenz surveyed the area this morning (23. June). Conditions: overcast with light to moderate winds. Weather deteriorated only well after the survey was completed. A total of 32 species were recorded at sites, with another 3 between sites. The most widespread species were Spotted Pardalote (at 7 out of 9 sites), Crimson Rosella and Grey Fantail noted at 6 sites. Small MFFs were present at 3 sites, incl. 2x Speckled Warbler, 1x Brown-headed Honeyeater.
Of interest: a pair of Australian Ravens in recycling mode, pulling branches out of one old nest and using them to repair another old nest a short distance away; a Superb Parrot, rarely recorded at Mt Ainslie; at the paddocks E of the reserve 40 Welcome Swallows; 1 male Flame Robin and 570 Eastern Grey Kangaroos.
