David - not sure if your comment about 1st time seeing double barred finches was meant to be general to the Belconnen area, or just your own part of Bruce. While we haven't seen any for quite a while, we certainly have had many of them visit us in Emu Ridge (Moulden Court) in Belconnen in the past - sometime in groups of about a dozen.
