Late  this afternoon a Hobby was perched at the top of a dead tree above the power lines near the ACTEW substation (above Chisholm St).

The first one I’ve seen in the nei ghbourhood since the pair aborted their attempted use of a raven’s nest in Paterson street in October last year in the face of a massive currawong onslaught.

 

Four green bowerbirds, attended/chased by the currrawongs,  are still visiting our garden everyday, with the runner bean leaves apparently the main attraction.
